VSO Chorus Rehearsal Schedule


We rehearse for up to six weeks before a performance; on Saturdays (during the academic year) and Tuesdays (during the summer). Rehearsal venues vary statewide but include Burlington, Middlebury, Montpelier and Rutland.

VSO Chorus Audition Information

Singers wishing to audition for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra Chorus should prepare for the following:

  • A short song, 2-3 minutes in length, preferably in English
  • Sight reading skills
  • Pitch control
  • Vocal range test
  • Previous choral experience

  • You will be scheduled for your audition at the choral director’s discretion as far as time and location. Auditions are brief, usually lasting no more than 15 minutes. Prospective members should be aware of the commitment they will be making should they be accepted into the chorus.     VSO Chorus "Songs of Freedom" Rehearsal Schedule

    All Saturday rehearsals are from 1-4 pm. The dress rehearsal is mandatory as it will be our only opportunity to rehearse with the instrumentalists and Peter Yarrow.  Concert call times will be determined at the dress rehearsal.

    Feb. 16, 1-4pm—Trinity Church, Rutland

    Feb. 23, 1-4pm—Elley-Long, Colchester

    Mar. 2, 1-4pm—Christ Church, Montpelier

    Mar. 9, 1-4pm—Trinity Church, Rutland

    Mar. 16, 1-4pm—Elley-Long, Colchester

    Mar. 23, 1-4pm—Christ Church, Montpelier

    Mar. 30—no rehearsal; Easter Eve

    Apr. 5 (FRIDAY), 7-9:30pm—Trinity Church, Rutland

    Apr. 6, afternoon rehearsal w/ Peter, time TBD; concert 7:30pm
