Bob Donald is the CEO/CFO of The Windham Foundation, located in Grafton, Vermont, where he has been CFO since 2010, and added CEO duties in 2020. In his financial role, he is responsible for all accounting and financial management matters relating to the Foundation and its two operating units – the Grafton Village Cheese Company, and the Grafton Inn. As CEO, he oversees the strategic direction of the organization, its grantmaking functions, and its relationships with external partners and stakeholders.
Prior to joining The Windham Foundation, Mr. Donald spent over 30 years in financial administration functions in a variety of organizations of both varying sizes and industry.
Early in his career he worked in publicly traded firms, including the Detroit Edison Company (electric utility), and the NYNEX Corporation (now part of Verizon), where he worked in both the Treasury area, and served as Director of Finance for a group of software and professional services subsidiaries.
For the past 20+ years, Mr. Donald has worked in privately held organizations, including the Litecontrol Corporation, a lighting manufacturer, where he served as CFO for 7+ years and implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan; Vision BioSystems, a medical device manufacturer, where he served as North American Finance Director before its acquisition by Danaher Corporation; and Medical Sales Management, a pharmacy-outsourcer, where he served as Director of Finance.
A native of northern New Jersey, Mr. Donald received both BS and MBA degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to serving on the VSO Board, Bob is Treasurer of the Grafton Historical Society Board, and is a past chair of the Grafton Public Library Board.
Mr. Donald lives with his wife, Maryanne, in Grafton, Vermont. He has two grown children who live in the Boston area.
