The VSO is partnering with local food shelves in December 2022 and encourages all concertgoers to bring a non-perishable item to the Holiday Pops concerts at the Barre Opera House, The Flynn in Burlington, and the Paramount Theatre in Rutland. VSO volunteers will take the donations to the designated food shelves, which have shared their top priority donations for December:
December 9 Holiday Pops concert at the Barre Opera House
Spaulding High School Food Shelf
- Canned meat and fruit
- Pasta sauce and pasta
- Wrapped snack foods
- Bath soap and toothpaste
December 10 Holiday Pops Concert at The Flynn
South Burlington Food Shelf
- Canned Meats: such as Chicken, Tuna, Ham, Spam, and Hash
- Canned Fruit: any type or brand
- Coffee or Tea: any type or brand
- Canned Soup: any type or brand
- Ketchup: our most taken item at the food shelf
- Rice: any type in 1 or 2 lb bags or boxes
- Jellies and Jams: any flavor or brand
- Pasta Sauce: any type or brand
- Snack Foods: boxes of crackers or cookies and the like
