From romantic, savage, and epic American dramas to Japanese anime fantasy, The Hollywood Sound concert explores film scores from the past 80 years. VSO Concertmaster, Katherine Winterstein, performs Korngold’s 1945 film score-infused violin concerto to complete the evening. This concert is conducted by VSO Music Director Andrew Crust, and includes video projections accompanying Psycho in partnership with Champlain College’s Emergent Media Center.
The concert begins at 3:00 p.m. and is preceded at 2:00 pm. by Musically Speaking, a free pre-concert discussion with Vermont Public’s Helen Lyons, that provides entertaining insight in to the evening’s program with our conductor and guest soloist.
